Empowering Women Together
Our society has over time seen the evolution of women roles and rights and if you listen closely enough, you will hear the words “women empowerment.”. That word sparks conservation, yes, but what does it really mean?
Women’s empowerment can be defined to promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.
Why is it important to empower women? This is because women are still undermined, discriminated against, facing violence and their status in society is questioned, assumed and subject to debate.
So how do we do this?
First, educate yourself. Learn what women empowerment is. This way you get to understand women’s journey in empowerment, their rights, their challenges, needs and how empowering them leads to development of the society, community and the world.
At Bayaan, we know that women empowerment encompasses the social, educational, economic, psychological, political parts. Our programs are tailored to these aspects of women empowerment. They are:
- Empowering Girls to go to school ( mentorship, provision of sanitary towels, sponsorship)
- Skills Training ( entrepreneurial , technical, communication etc.)
- Educating Women ( Human rights, self esteem, healthcare, nutrition, reproductive health etc.)
- Supporting Vulnerable Women ( relief aid, basic needs, etc.)
We can only empower women in our communities through partnering with you (individual, corporate, nonprofit or any entity that wants to support women).
Our women empowerment campaign is called “ Yetu Campaign”. Because yetu means ours and women are a part of us. Part of society.
